Have Questions?

No. We can work together on any areas of health that are important to you. And if you are working with a practitioner, or a team, I can work within that team to support you. Each situation is unique.
This is an important question. Health coaches are not a regulated profession, so it is wise to confirm credentials to ensure you’re working with someone who meets your needs and can help you reach your specific goals.
My first coaching certification was completed in 2017 through the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, where I was trained and certified as an Eating Psychology and Mind-Body Nutrition Coach. I went on to study evidence-based coaching psychology and lifestyle medicine through the Wellcoaches Center of Coaching Excellence, in partnership with the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, graduating in 2021. I then pursued board-certification and became a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach in 2023.
My earlier education includes a B.Sc. in Biopsychology (Hons) from the University of Victoria, graduating in 2013. I also completed two years of continuing professional training at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (Boucher Campus) in 2015-2017, studying biomedicine, clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, human anatomy, counselling psychology, and Traditional Asian Medicine. I also hold certifications as an Integrative Trauma Coach (including training in mindfulness meditation, breathwork, and somatic therapies), Certified HeartMath Practitioner, and Precision Nutrition Coach (Level 1).
Committed to growth and excellence in my field, I am currently completing training as a Certified Menopause Coaching Specialist through Girls Gone Strong, and becoming a Functional Medicine Practitioner through the School of Applied Functional Medicine.
Health coaches are experts in behaviour change. We provide personalized guidance and accountability in six key lifestyle domains including diet, exercise, sleep, stress management, social connection, and substance use to help people achieve their goals and optimize well-being.
Health coaches do not diagnose or treat medical illness, interpret medical results, prescribe medications or supplements, provide medical nutrition therapy, or clinical counselling therapy.
Unfortunately, coaching is not covered under medical health insurance plans at this time. However, if your health benefits include a Health Spending Account (HSA), you may be able to offset some of the cost with this flexible wellness spending allotment.
I have experience working with a wide range of health challenges and goals including weight management, body recomposition, Type 2 Diabetes, chronic pain, substance dependence, and cognitive decline.
My main area of expertise is in supporting people to optimize their nutrition and eating behaviours, including creating a healthy relationship with food and breaking disordered eating patterns.
I am also a Certified Menopause Coaching Specialist trained to support women in mid-life who are navigating the complex mental and physiological changes associated with this important life transition.
